So I've been working on a new collection of cards and bags to add to the shop. It's a tedious task of collecting and recording ideas, taking photos, sketching (and resketchin) those photos, transferring to carving blocks, testing, testing and more testing until I finally feel it's good enough to print.

Big task for sure but I love every minute of it!

I start my day early with a big cup of coffee (and several of them to be exact) and get a couple hours of work in while my son sleeps. I start working again when he takes his nap. It is awesome that I get to finally do this with his sleep patterns. It wasn't always like his so I cherish and utilize every moment of free time.

I have decided to start a Kickstarter campaign this month to offset the cost of this new collection. If you don't know what Kickstarter is, it's a well known crowdfunding website that allows supporters and investors looking for new inventions and projects to help back. The cool thing about this site is that it's not just someone trying to gather money to pay for everyday life things, it's true designers, inventors and artists that need help making their dreams come true With a little extra help with costs. It also allows the creator to give something in return to the person backing their project. In my case, it is sets of the handprinted cards that I'm raising the money for.
